The Kairūri Community Trust (KCT) are delighted to announce that applications for the 2025 Stirling Scholarship are now open!

This scholarship is funded by an investment in the Kairūri Community Trust by the family of Ian and Margaret Stirling. The fund is for the specific purpose of providing scholarships/grants to support those seeking careers or further education in Survey and Spatial and particularly for those who have financial or other barriers to pursuing tertiary education including but not limited to socio-economic circumstance, ethnicity and gender.
The 2025 Scholarship Includes:
A $2,500 cash award to assist with study-related expenses
Full attendance at the 2025 Survey and Spatial NZ Annual Conference in Christchurch including registration, travel, and accommodation.10–12 September 2025 at Te Pae Christchurch – www.surveyspatialconference.org
Student membership of Survey and Spatial NZ (if not already a member)
An opportunity to present a 5-minute talk at the conference on your submission.

Why you’re pursuing a Surveying or Spatial career
Why you’re applying for the scholarship
A short essay (under 1,000 words) and/or video (under 5 minutes) responding to the 2025 conference theme: “Transforming the Landscape” – What does it mean to you professionally, and how do you see yourself contributing to that transformation?
Your academic transcript
